EMAN ALI (b. 1986, UK)

Ali is an Omani visual artist whose work interlaces religious, socio-political and consumerist ideologies under the umbrella of sexuality and the performance of gender in the Arabian Gulf region. Ali questions these cultural complexities by exploring its manifestations in contemporary khaleeji (from the Gulf) society through a hybrid of artistic expression ranging from image-making to text, light installation, sculpture and sound.
